Maternal filicide

Today we read an article about maternal filicide. This is when a mom kills her kids. A mom could do this if they believe that its what the child wants (Altrustic Filicide). Or she could do it if she hears voices that tell her to do it (Acutely Psychotic Filicide). The mother could also beat the child until they die by accident or if the child is unwanted. Sometimes the mother could kill the child if they want to get back at their husband. Overall this is not right.  A mother should love her kids not kill them.

Is the world real?

Some believe that the world is just a simulation and everything that is happening is just a game or a dream. Others believe that our world is real. Maybe everything that happens is just a dream that you can't wake up from. Maybe we are just in a game and we can't tell what's real and what's no real. Maybe we are imagining everything that is happening everyday but nothing is real. What if the people you see are just in your dream that you can't wake from. Everyone can think what they want but I believe that everything is just a game and we are just stuck in a dream that we can't escape even if we tried. But what happens if one day the people that are controlling the game decided to shut it off? Would that just be the end of it all? Everyone has their own dream and they just imagine everything they see and nothing is actually there. You never know, maybe some other people have taken full control of the population and control what we see and think?

Similarities between book of job and Moshe Yosef Daum and Fela nussabuam

The story of Moshe Yosef Daum and Fela nussabuam is similar to the story of Job because both of them had to go through very tough times. For example, Moshe Yosef Daum and Fela Nussabuam had to go through the tragedy of the holocaust which is something very hard and traumatizing  to go through. And in the book of job,Job had to go through a lot. He had his family killed by god, all his cattle die, cuts all over his body and all that happened because of a bet between God and Satan. Satan said to god that the only reason Job is faithful is because he has everything he wants so god took away everything he had so he could see if he would still be faithful. God put a  innocent man in pain and suffering for no apparent reason but a bet with Satan.

Book of Job

There are many differences from The book of Job and all the other books we read. One of the differences is that in The book of job, God and Satan make a kind of bet on how faithful a man will be to God. For example God takes way everything from this one man for no reason, he ruins  his life due to a bet with  satan to prove that he is loyal to God. This is different to the other books we have read because in the other books, God gets upset at the people of the world and just kills them because he's doesn't like the way that They act. Even though there are differences in this book there are still some similarities. One similaritiy in the book of job and the other books we read is that God keeps on doing the same thing which is destroying peoples lives for stupid reasons. He ruined a mans life by taking away all he had due to a bet with Satan to see if he would stay loyal even if he takes away everything he has. In the other books we have read, God gets mad and kills people just because they didn't act the way God would have liked them to.

High school so far

I expected there to be a big difference in high school and middle school but really there isn't much of  A difference. High school has been good so far because you make a lot of new friendships with new people. Another thing I like about high school is that you get more freedom but people say that it's like A LOT of freedom but honestly it's not. All you do is walk maybe 5 or so minutes to get pizza. You get more freedom but it all comes with responsibility. Another thing I like about high school are the teachers. The teachers in the high school are actually really chill and nice but we also get a lot of work which isn't so good but that's some of the  responsibilities you have in school school because you are expected to do work and everything like that.  High school has been pretty fun so far and hopefully it stays that way.

God characterization

In Genesis 6, 7, 8, & 9, many things are learned about God and what type of person He is. In the Bible it shows that God is very much like us, but he is very much different. It is shown in the Bible that God is more powerful than humans, but he is kind of like a human too. In the Bible when God brings the flood to the earth and kills everyone, it shows that he is very powerful. But, when he says that he regretted killing everyone, it shows that there is a human side to him. I go to church, so this agrees with what I have been taught since I was a little boy.

The myth of the Ivory Coast flood happened when a charitable man gave away everything he had. The god Ouende rewarded him with riches, advised him to leave the area, and sent six months of rain to destroy his selfish neighbors. This shows that if you are a good and humble person, good things will come your way which in the mans case were riches and advice to leave to a different land. As a gift to the charitable man for giving everything he ever had he was warned about the flood and advised to leave the land. It also shows that jealousy can bring you karma. You should be happy with what you have and not want what other have. In both stories Gilgamesh and Mandingo, there are very violent floods. In the myth of Mandingo, the flood was meant to punish the the neighbors of the charitable man because they were jealous that they were not warned about the flood or given any goods. As a punishment, the neighbors were given 6 months of a rain. This connects to Gilgamesh because both stories include a flood that happened after someone does something wrong. Both stories also have 2 people that are briefly warned about the flood and told to leave before the flood comes so he can be safe. The story shows that if you are a good and humble person, good things will come to you but if you are not a good person, you would be punished with a great storm

Genesis

I . I think that Eve was to blame for God sending Adam and Eve away from the garden of Eden. In Genesis 2 and 3, they gave into the serpent and took food from the tree. She then gave Adam which gave them both knowledge, like God. Because she and Adam ate from the "forbidden" tree, God sent them away from the Garden and punished them both. Eve's punishment was that she would feel pain when she had kids. In Genesis it states: I will greatly increase your pains and childbearing; with pain you will give birth to children…" What surprises me is that Adam blamed Eve too. I think that if Eve hadn't been so greedy for knowledge of good and bad, she wouldn't have caused such a mess. I think that the snake that tempted Eve, was testing her faithfulness to God, a test that she failed. In the Bible it said: When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and desirable for gaining wisdom, she took and ate it. She also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate it.". This was the moment when Adam and Eve went against God's word.

Welcome to my blog

Welcome to my blog. I'm a 9th grade student at Roslyn high school. I'm 13 years old and have to keep a blog. I play soccer in my free time and that's what keeps me busy most of the time when I'm not sleeping.  I'm from Colombia. I love music and it's probably one of the 3 things I can't live without. Well that's pretty much me
